easter eggs

Today we were coloring easter eggs. Erica did not do any of the dirty work though she did hold an try to bite an egg. We took a few pics today too- thank god for becky's battery. I took one picture and my battery died luckily I I was able to use Beckys. Erica was so interested in the plastic eggs she just wanted to eat them. Here are a few shots from today.

Zoo

Sunday was finally an -OK- day and I had to get outside this winter seems to be lasting way to long!! We headed to the zoo-- my mom got us a membership for christmas and we finally got to use it. We had a great time the last time we were there was when erica was barely 8 weeks old now she is just about 8 months old what a difference. We had her sitting up in the stroller not in her car seat so she could see the animals. She looked so cute all bundled up!

We went into the childrens zoo and the goats all wanted to be pet- Erica was in awe of the animal of course whil daddy pet the goats.

We took Erica on the Carousel and I am so glad - she sat on the baby hippo- she loved it from the moment I placed her on the seat she had a smile on her face and she grabbed on the bar. When we started to move she loved it- she was smiling and laughing it was awesome to see.

this weekend

Here is little Erica who is rolling all over the floor whatever toy she wants to get to she rolls and pivots to it. She also rolls to the dog and gets kisses from Ellie. She loves Ellie so much, she just laughs and laughs her her when she gets kisses. Erica is also getting her first tooth, I felt something this afternoon it is barely though the gums but it there!!

We have been trying new foods with Erica and having some success! We gave her a "baby cookie" and she loved it she sucked on this thing making of course a huge mess. I though this was such a cute picture of her trying to gnaw off a piece of the cookie.

we're back

Sorry we have been MIA, things here are just crazy. It seems that this past month we hae not had a chance to settle down. Erica is 7 months now and she turned the switch on to her appetite, she is eating what seems to be all day long. She eats three meals a day including her puffs, and then her bottles. We are now weaning her from breastmilk to formula and she is doing really well. Her foods that she is eating is of course her stage two gerber food but also yogurt, cottage cheese, banana it is so much fun to see her face with new foods.
Wed. is her swim class she loves it she just floats like she has no cares in the world which is exactly how she should feel.! She is rolling an pivoting all over the floor, I know the crawling is coming, she lifts her tush up to try and oush off with her feet but gets tired. It is going to be a whole new world though once she masters it. We have bought a gate for the stairs to try and be prepared. We are also contemplating switching the car seat to her convertible seat once the weather breaks. I will post new pics soon

sitting up

It was like someone flipped a switch on Thursday, Erica wil sit up but not for more than a few mins until thursday. She was just ready I guess she has been sitting and playing for 30 mins at a time over the weekend. Here are a few pics of her playing with her drums ( she loves them ) and her twinkle rings. Of course we always have pillows behind her so she doesn't get hurt when she leans back!! She looks like such a big girl all of a sudden.

6 months

Erica is 6 months old now and how that time has flown by! At her appointment we went over many things with the doctor, she can now start eating table foods- such as bread or banana, starting off slow and going from there. She was 14.4 lbs and 25 3/4 inches long. So she stayed in the 25th % for weight but went up a bit in her height. We are going to go to PT though this coming week because little Erica favors her left side and she is getting a flat spot on the left side of her head. So we are going to learn stretches for her to hopefully sleep to both sides. The MD of course said it was nothing to worry about but I don't want her neck muscles to be tight going to one side as she gets older.

Erica loves to stand though she is doing it with help of course, she finally is sitting by herself for a few seconds not for very long before she wobbles over. She also started her first swim class this week. She loves being in the water, daddy also dunked her! Erica loves to grab and pull on her toys as well as my hair. She is teething and loves to chew on anything including our fingers! We couldn't be happier with all of the wonderful things that she is accomplishing! We love her SO much.

christmas day 2007

Christmas day we had the Laskey family over to our house for dinner. It was great that everyone brought something to contribute for dinner. We did the present exchange for the kids and then ate afterwards. Erica had such a great time- though she took a nap during dinner which was nice that we could eat without worring about her.
